George Visnich Jr., DMD

Dr. George Visnich is a board-certified surgeon who has been providing exceptional oral surgery services and patient care with successful outcomes for 35 years.

Dr. George Visnich grew up in Johnstown, PA, a small city in Western Pennsylvania located in the heart of Coal Mining and Steel Production. Upon completion of his residency program in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1987, Dr. Visnich practiced in Allentown, PA for 7 years. In 1994, Dr. Visnich opened his first private practice in Aliquippa, PA, and expanded to Beaver Falls and New Castle, PA. Dr. Visnich provides the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with an emphasis on excellent patient care. Dr. Visnich enjoys the full spectrum of oral surgery from Dentoalveolar (Wisdom Teeth) to Orthognathic Surgery with an emphasis on Dental Implant Reconstruction and Trauma.

Education & Residency Training

Dr. Visnich completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. degree in Biochemistry. He graduated from Temple University School of Dental Medicine in 1983. Dr. Visnich completed his residency program in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Certifications/Professional Groups

Dr. Visnich is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). He is a fellow in the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ACOMS). He is a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (PSOMS), the Mid-Atlantic Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (MASOMS), and the American Dental Association (ADA). He maintains Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.

Hobbies & Interests

Dr. Visnich is an avid sports enthusiast, particularly baseball and college football. Dr. Visnich wore “the tools of ignorance” as a catcher from Little League to the Minor League. He has transitioned from baseball to Golf. He loves to watch his sons participate in Curling as they attempt to become a part of the USA Olympic Curling Team. A unique hobby of Dr. Visnich for almost 40 years is collecting Christmas Ornaments. He is captivated by the detailed craftsmanship and artistry that is displayed by each ornament (and is running out of space to store them). Dr. Visnich and his wife Linda are the proud parents of Nicholas and Alexander. They are also the loving owners of their third Minature Schnauzer, Molly.
